This month we’re focusing on … Product Management!!
With the job market rapidly changing to meet the demands of our evolving world, a lot of us are lost and have many questions regarding our future careers. Today we bring to you insight into product management.
Product managers are responsible for planning the overall success of the product. They work with individuals both inside and outside the firm to make sure goals are met. This involves:
Discovering a product niche 🏙
Analyzing their competitors 👨👧👦
Developing a strategy 🛠
Iterating based on feedback and analysis 📊📈
For instance, when a majority of the world started running on Zoom in 2020, the product did not have a lot of the features they have today. Based on user feedback and data analysis, they now have an auto-generated closed caption option 💬, background image customization 🏞, and a phone feature to make phone calls through Zoom 📞. Constantly making improvements and listening to the demands of their market allowed them to develop their product to what we use today.
They value your opinion too: How would you want to enhance your experience on this app? 🧑💻
Event: Discover Product Management 🅿️Ⓜ️
How would you improve the design? How would you go about launching a product in an emerging market? How would you differentiate from the competitor? 🧐 These are some questions a product manager may need to answer to ensure the success of their products. HOW, you may ask?

Let’s get prepared!
Do you find networking difficult? 😫 Networking may sound overwhelming and like a wall to breakthrough. But it doesn’t have to be hard! Here are some strategies and tips to improve your networking skills!
It IS possible to make networking fun and to love these types of events! Not only to get connections but to grow as a person and enjoy the process 🤜 🤛
Come with a goal 📝: By showing up to an event with a goal, such as “make 2 meaningful connections with people that I can keep in contact with”, or “I will find ways to make this fun for myself”, will help change your attitude and make you more proactive! Research potential attendees you may want to chat with!
Don’t be negative ✅: Don’t try to bond with people over the negativity! Focus on the positive aspects of your experiences! Everyone has their own shyness - you can take control of it or let it control you! Coming with a goal will help calm your nerves.
Balance the conservation ⚖️: A great conservation is when there is a constant back and forth of questions and answers! Share about yourself, but also ask questions about others!
Enjoy the process 🥳: Find a way to enjoy the process. How can I make this event better for myself? Tell yourself that this event/time is going to be a pleasurable event!
Experiencing something new can always be exciting and worrisome at the same time. Hopefully, this helped and will allow you to enjoy the process next time you network!
